What is All-on-4?
A full arch of fixed teeth held by four implants: two upright at the front and two tilted at the back to make the most of the bone you have. It replaces a whole upper or lower set of teeth, or both.

Will I really leave with teeth on the same day?
In most cases, yes. A fixed temporary bridge is attached to your implants on the day of surgery. After 3 to 6 months of healing it is replaced with your permanent bridge. Your CBCT scan and consultation confirm whether same-day teeth suit you.

Does it hurt?
Treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic, with sedation available if you feel nervous. Patients usually describe pressure rather than pain. Some swelling and mild discomfort for a few days afterwards is normal and is usually managed with the medication we prescribe.

I've been told I don't have enough bone. Can I still have implants?
Often, yes. Because the two back implants are tilted, All-on-4 can often avoid bone grafting. A CBCT 3D scan shows us exactly how much bone you have, and we tell you honestly what is possible.

What can I eat after treatment?
Soft foods for the first weeks: mashed potato, scrambled eggs, fish, smoothies and pasta are ideal. Avoid hard, crunchy or sticky foods while the implants heal.

How long does the whole treatment take?
Your consultation and scan come first. Surgery usually takes a few hours per arch, and you leave with fixed temporary teeth. After 3 to 6 months of healing your permanent bridge is fitted.

What are the permanent teeth made of?
You can choose acrylic on a titanium frame, which is durable and cost-effective, or a porcelain or zirconia bridge, which is highly aesthetic and long-lasting. We talk you through both at your consultation.

How do I look after my new teeth?
Brush with a soft toothbrush, use the rinses we recommend, and come for a check-up every 6 months and a professional clean every 6 to 12 months. Your first two check-ups are included in your 12 months of free aftercare.
